Procedure (29-40 minutes)
Warm-up: The teacher asks students to find an adjective that starts with the first letter of their names. The teacher asks students to list as many sport as possible in 20 seconds, and collect the answers from them. Lead-in: Students watch a funny video related to sports. The teacher asks some questions.
Pre-teaching: The teacher shows the meaning and pronunciation of the vocabulary in the listening text as a pre-teaching through Canva. Then, students go to the Kahoot page to practice the vocabulary they have learned. Then, they categorize the vocabulary according to their forms such as noun, adjective, verb. Pre-listening: The teacher ask question about the name of the text, and wants students to guess what the topic is about.
While: Students first listen for the main idea, after that they answer the questions. Then, they listen for the specific information. They again answer the questions on the coursebook.
Students are going to debate about inner talent. The question is that "Are successful athletes born with natural talent, or is their success primarily due to hard work and training? you can give examples with sport players". First, they need to brainstorm together as a group. Then, they will start to debate. They have to use at least 3 vocabularies they have learned during the debate. After that, the teacher will give assignment to the students for the next week. Students will watch a sports game and write a short paragraph using at least 5 of the terms they have learned. At the end of the lesson, the teacher will give an exit ticket to the students and collect it.
