Elementary level

Description

In this lesson, students learn about reaing / telling time in different formats (_past, _to & _:_) and prices in different currencies. This will be followed by sentences containing daily usage of the vocabulary and real life dialogues.

Procedure

Lead-in (8-10 minutes) • Making Ss aware of the subject "Times & prices"

Will lead-in to different times (starting with the current time at the start of the lesson) & prices which will, on the next stage, be used within elicited sentences making sure items in the first activity are introduced at this stage.

Main Task (10-12 minutes) • Giving Ss more fluency in making and pronouncing TL sentences of questions and answers

Eliciting sentences about the Ss' personal belongings ie what they are wearing, their mobile phones etc making sure items in the activity at the next stage are further introduced

Vocabulary (10-12 minutes) • Full awareness of the Vocabularyin through a practicing activity followed by intense drilling

You hear-you say activity in groups of 3 with as much drilling on pronunciation as possible within the planned time.

TL practising (10-12 minutes) • Practising making and pronouncing more sentences in TL

Setting the context of the next activity (hand out 2) and eliciting examples sentences from the Ss from the previous lesson to make sure they can ask and answer questions in TL and then introducing the activity with clear instructions making sure they understand their roles.

FB (5-7 minutes) • To make sure they have understood the last activity and can answer Teacher's or each other's questions in TL

WCFB to check that the objective is achieved and students are confidently making sentences in TL
