Procedure (28-36 minutes)
In pairs ss tell each other about their families. T monitors the activity, listens for some facts, and as the activity finishes asks some of the ss questions about their partner's families.
In regrouped pairs ss try to work out questions to find out missing information in worksheet A.T elicits all 7 question for the worksheet from the whole class and writes on the board. Then T drills these questions with the class focusing on sentence stress.
T divides the ss into As and Bs,(making sure they're working with different partners) provides them with the copies of appropriate worksheets. Ss work with their partners and take turns to ask questions about people on their worksheet in number order. Ss write the information on their worksheets. T walks around and monitors the ss while they are speaking. T listens for examples of correct and incorrect language (particularly for their use of pronouns & possessives) and writes them down.
When students have finished, they compare answers and check their spelling in different pairs.(with those who have the same HO) Then T writes down the examples of correct and incorrect language, praises for correct ones and gets ss to correct the wrong ones.
T elicits jobs vocabulary by asking questions like, Who works in a hospital?- a doctor Who studies at University?- a student Who plays music?- a musician Who works in a shop?- a shop assistant Who works in a restaurant?- a waiter Who plays football?- a footballer Who writes books?- a writer T writes the last two words on the board and drills pronunciation.
