Show the students the picture of the tenants and the estate agent. Get them into pairs to talk about the picture. Then, ask them what is going on the picture, what are they doing, where are they, who are these people, try to elicit the word "estate agent." CCQ: What does an estate agent sell? house, cars or vegetables? Get the Ss drill the world. Show the pictures of the flats. Ask the Ss what they are. Elicit the word "flat" and drill it. Ask for the each flat if it is new or old, and cheap or expensie. Show the picture of the estate agent again, elicit it, then write it on the wall with phonology and stress. (Elicit the stress as well.)
Show the picture and elicit the words "district", and "neighbourhood". Drill and analyze the words. Tell that you are going to build a neighbourhood. Ask the Ss what they need in neighbourhood such as flats, markets, etc. Depending on the number of the people in the class, get the Ss into pairs or groups of 3. Give one of the groups the organized picture, and give the other the jumbled one. One person in the pair/group describes the places of the pictures while the other arranges the jumbled pictures. Give the students the correct arrangement as FB.
"Now, you are going to listen a text which is about these people." (Show the picture with the tenants and estate agent.) Who are they? What do they talk about? Get them into groups to discuss the answer. If they don't agree, give them multiple choices to choose one as the gist.
Give students the "True or False" handout. Demonstrate on the board that they listen to the text and put a tick symbol or T for the true statements, a cross for the wrong statement. They are going to do the task individually and check the answers in pairs or groups. Give them the written script of the text to check. Finally, give the answer sheet.
Depending on the class size, divide the students into pairs or groups. They are going to perform a role-play as tenants and an estate agency. Give them the handouts to guide them.
