To provide clarification of the Lexical phrases which indicate levels of certainty about the future. in the context of making assumptions or predictions about a person, for example: He is bound to upset people.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide specific information listening practice using a text about A conversation between two co-workers in the context of expressing their dislike of another co-worker
Procedure (34-45 minutes)
Students will be asked if they are working and what their jobs are. Then they will be asked if they had someone at work they did not like and why.
For starter, students will be given a picture of coworkers in a cafeteria talking to each other while looking at another coworker. Then they will be asked about where these people are, and what they are talking about then they will have to discuss these questions in groups. After that they will listen to a recording which will be the conversation between the coworkers and while they are listening they will have to answer some questions regarding what has been discussed in the conversation.after they listen they will check their answers with a partner.
learners will be given 5 sentences on the white board using OHP which will contain the modal verbs will, wont, might, could and may. The numbers 100%, 50%, 70% , 80% will be clarified as degrees of certainty and they'll have to say which percentage belonged to which model for the purpose of clarifying the difference between them.
1- learners will be given 10 sentences which will contain the phrases: bound to, be likely to, may well, be sure to, I dare say, be unlikely to, I can't imagine, I don't suppose, I doubt if I and I shouldn't think.Then they will have to answer the questions in groups. They will be about which of the phrases express the concept of something that will definitely or probably happen and which ones express the concept of something that definitely or probably wont happen as well as questions regarding the sentence structure:a) which of the phrases are followed by an infinitive,and b) which of them are followed by subject + will+ infinitive. 3- On the whiteboard they will have to organize the phrases according to which one belongs to the " will definitely or probably happen" category, and which ones belong to the "definitely or probably wont happen" 4- In the end they will be given two sets of paper. one set will have the word "infinitive" on it and the other will have " subject+ will+ infinitive" on. the students will have to organize these on the white board in front of the phrases accordingly.
Students will be given sentences in which they will have to form each sentence according to the phrase provided between brackets. after they finish they will be provided with the answer sheet.
Learners will look at the image of a woman then they will be asked to imagine and descuss in groups what her job is, what kind of person she is and whether she is nice or not. Then they will have to make assumptions or predictions as to what kind of person she is and make 3 sentences about it. In the end, each student will say their sentence in a chain manner, the first one will say a sentence then immediately the second one will say another sentence and so on.
