Review what was learnt in the previous lesson. Ask questions relating to the subject matter and elicit answers. Give the sts more time to practice what they have learned so far?
Sts will be given the opportunity to ask each other a series of question related o the context. I will begin the question-based task by asking the first student a simple question related to their family. That student will then ask the student directly next to him/her similar questions. Each student should get to ask a question and answer a question at least once.
The students will be handed a sheet of paper with a picture of a nuclear family and a series of question relating to it. The students will work in groups of two and each group will be given a HO plus four speech bubbles with text on it. Their task is to work out which speech bubble belongs to which of the four family members. Once completed there are seven question related to the text that the students will need to complete. The students will have the opportunity to read out their answers. 5-8 mins Second task will focus on the Murphy family album. The students will once again work in pairs and will need to determine whos-who in the Murphy clan. 5-8 mins Third task, Barry and Wendy's family, possessive 's, jobs and how old HO...The students will be organised in to two groups, A and B. The A group will be given the 'student A' Ho and the B students the 'student B' HO's. They will take turns asking questions to fill in the blanks of the Barry and Wendy family tree. 10-12 mins Last activity, time permitting we'll be looking at the Royal family tree. The students will get a picture of royal and will be required to place them on the family tree already on the board by using the information on the back of the pictures.
The students will work on the correct pronunciation and correct usage of the possessive 's and practice using the TL.
