Description

in this class students will learn about appearance vocabulary through a reading text about different people with different appearance. the main aim is teaching vocabulary and second aim is reading. in the lead-in phase i want ask students to describe their favorite look and try to make a picture of it in AI tool. then some vocabulary will be taught. in while stage i want studuents to do some task through reading of the passage and in production phase they should talk about celebrities appearance by guessing

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of thin, fat, straight hair, curly hair, well-built, skinny in the context of appearance

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide scan reading practice using a text about appearance in the context of appearance

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

asking students to tell their favorite appearance by naming a celebrity, then teacher describe those celebrities with blocking words from reading text

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

in the next step the teacher ask students to use such vocabularies to create a favorite appearance in an AI tool

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

show a picture to students, ask them to find vocabularies which are appropriate for describing that picture from the text.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

in the next step, students should find the name of person whose picture is shown.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

IN THE PRODUCTION PHASE, students will be asked to write a report about appearance of a criminal as a witness using learned vocabularies.
