Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

First of all, the teacher gives instructions, then throw a ball by asking "how are you feeling today?". Then, students are expected to do same and throwing the ball by asking the same question.

Brainstorming (3-5 minutes) • To check the background knowledge of the students

Students are asked to discuss the question which is stated in activity 1-a on page 60. Then, students are expected to write their possible answers on Mentimeter.

Question- Answer (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to adjectives.

The teacher asks students to read the sentences which is stated in activity 1-b on page 60. Students are expected to give answer accordingly. Then, the teacher asks if students know synonyms for these words. The teacher gives brief information about "Thesaurus".

Completing the sentences (6-8 minutes) • To practice the difference between -ed and -ing adjectives

Teacher checks background knowledge of the students. The teacher gives information about adjectives. Then, students are expected to complete the activity a on page 138. Answers are checked together by listening.

Syllables/phonetics (3-4 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Students listen the adjectives which is listed. Then, they work as a small group and find the syllables. The activity is checked together by listening. ICQ: Do we do it individually or as a group?

Production (1-2 minutes) • To use adjectives for appropriate situations

Students write one or two sentences about the situations which is stated in activity c. Compare their sentences in a small groups.

Speaking (3-5 minutes) • To use adjectives for appropriate situations

Students are expected to discuss the situations/questions which is in activity c on page 138. Then, the teacher asks the answers of students. ICQ: Do we do it individually or as a group?
