Main Aims

To present the functional language -giving advice- through text of two friend's conversation on whether or not to a accept a job offer. The lesson'll start with the Ss' controlled practice exercises of TL & will end semi controlled speaking practice through Ss' performances at role playing activity
Subsidiary Aims
-
To reinforce real life type of speaking based on samples of TL in the text. At the beginning the'll have a controlled speaking practice mostly supported by drilling exercises. Towards to the end , they'll be given more flexibility and at the end of the lesson they'll have the chance to practice semi controlled speaking by the means of role playing activity
Procedure (16-27 minutes)
T tries to lead them in to text through eliciting some answers to her questions.
T wants to get the Ss to be introduce the ways of giving advice. Ss listen to the tape again. T wants them to find advice sentences in text.
T explains Ss the different ways of giving advices according to the different situations. T teaches different kinds sample advice sentences listed from stronger to the weaker ones. Ss makes a controlled practice exercise through matching sentences.
T explains which different verb forms are used in different ways of giving advice. T tries to elicit the answers,emphasing the verbs during giving different advices. T tries to elicit the different verb forms from Ss through giving different advices. As a semi controlled practice, T draws 2 columns on the W/B for the two different verb forms.T want Ss to write down some phrases in to the respective columns. then Ss make drilling exercise
