Main Aims

Students will learn and practice the vocabulary for the color [Blue].

Students will review the previously learned vocabulary related to shapes [circle, square, triangle], family members [mother, father, etc] and colors [red, yellow].

Students will reinforce their understanding of family member vocabulary through a story.

Students will practice identifying family members using the phrases "This is my [family member]".

Vocabulary: Review and reinforce previously learned vocabulary related to family members [ Mother, Father, etc. ].
Procedure (31-44 minutes)
Introduce the story about family members.
Read the story aloud with the help of puppet and show pictures . While reading the story Pause to ask questions : 1_ Who is this? 2_ What is the (...) doing? 3_ What is this? 4_ What shapes do you see? 5_ How many (...) do you see? 6_ What color is the (...)? 7_ Is the (...) Happy or sad? 8_ etc. (Optional) use the puppet with a happy , sad or angry voice to help you read the story.
Hold up different family members' flashcards and use the spinning wheel to randomly select students to answer the question: Who is this? . Then pair students to practice asking and answering the question using flashcards. Game: Roleplay
Show and Tell: Students bring a family photo and describe each member using the target phrases. Add questions like, How many brothers/sisters do you have? and What's your (...) name?
