Main Aims

Subsidiary Aims

Speaking Skills: Practice using new and reviewed vocabulary in sentences.

Listening Skills: Help students understand new words when they hear them.

Review: Reinforce students' knowledge of previously learned vocabulary related to colors and shapes through fun activities.
Procedure (43-62 minutes)
1_ Greet the students with "Hello, how are you?" and play a hello song. 2_ Assign a student as the teacher helper. 3_ Take attendance using a roll call song. 4_ Check students' workbooks. 5_ Review vocabulary related to party food, colors and shapes through fun activities such as the jumping game or slap the card game or the messing card game.
Use the birthday poster and real objects like Colorful balloons , party hat and present to introduce and highlight new vocabulary .
1_ Show the real objects (balloons, party hats, presents) and ask questions to elicit responses. 2_ Clearly pronounce each new word and sentence. [This is a present, I like presents, etc] 3_ Checking Understanding by Asking questions. [What is this? What shape is this?, etc] 4_ Have the whole class repeat the words and sentences together also you can ask each student to repeat the words and sentences.
Direct the students to their book activity related to shapes and colors. Ask : What do you see here? Then, guide them to complete the activity.
Explore and Share: Place balloons, party hats, presents, and flashcards with party food on a table, then let the kids choose an item and say if they like it or not .
