In this lesson students will learn about Be going to through PPP model in the context of what are your plans for the next week?. I will start the class talking about my plans for the forwarding week on a calender to emphasize on the use of be going to for plans. Then , I will involve them in the process with the question of what are your plans for the next week? This lesson will be ended with a controlled practice and a discussion about what are you going to be in the future ? And , what are you going to do as a successful person in that field?

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of Be going to in the context of what are your plans for the next week?

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a Speaking practice in the context of What are you going to be in the future? And, What are you going to do as a successful person in that field?

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will start the lesson talking about my plans for the next week based on a calender.

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

I will ask my students what are your plans for the next week? Actually, Do you usually write a plan ?

Highlighting (2-3 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

I will write two of my sentences on the board to draw their attention to the structure.

Clarification (8-12 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will draw a timeline on the board to clarify the use of the target language.Then, I will focus on the form by eliciting the structure from the students . In the next step, we will work on pronunciation.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

I will ask my students to do the exercise a on page 23 individually and then check with the tape and whole class.

Semi-Controlled Practice (5-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

I will ask my students ''What are you going to do after the class ?''

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

The subject of the discussion is ''What are you going to be in the future? And, What are you going to do as a successful person in that field?''
