Materials
Main Aims
-
To provide clarification of Past perfect
Subsidiary Aims
-
To provide accuracy speaking practice in a Conversation about their experiences
Procedure (30-43 minutes)
In this stage I will talk about my unbelievable experience. I will use some of the past participle and past simple verbs that my students have got familiar with before.
In this stage I will ask my students to tell the class how forgetful they are and have they ever had a unbelievable experience because of that?
In this stage I will write some of the sentences that my students have made in the correct form on the board to draw their attention to the TL.
I will clarify the meaning by drawing a timeline on the board and asking some CCQs: 1.Are the sentences about the past, present, or future? 2.Are the actions finished? 3.can I use simple past in my sentences? Then I will write the task a in page 95 and ask them to number the actions, then I will ask them "What do you think 'd is a contraction of? What form of verb is driven?" If the students say "would" I'll clarify that would is fallowed by infinitive not the past participle. After that I will elicit the structure from the students to clarify how to form the sentences. The third form of the verbs are mentioned in this stage.
The students are going to do exercise a on page 149 in the grammar bank in 2 minutes. They will have 1 minutes to check their answers in pairs and then we will check the answers with the whole class.
I will ask my students to answer these questions in groups of four: 1. When was the last time you forget or list something? 2. Where have you been when you found out?
