Description

In this lesson, students well learn how to express a good news and how to react after they hear a good news. in this lesson, we will start with a lead in which is about three different pictures of different people having a phone call and in this stage students have to think what are the phone calls are about in the next stage students will listen to two different conversations and they have to match the pictures to the conversations. The next stage students will have a handout of four reactions and the have to say which speaker has the same reaction . in the third part of this lesson students will read ten sentences which are sentences of giving news and students have to say if it is formal or informal, and the last part of this lesson is free task which is required to write a short dialog about giving news and reacting to and after that they have to act it in front of the class

  • to provide a practice of listening for specific information through a conversation

Procedure

Pre_Listening (5-6 minutes) • To prepare students for the lessening converstion

1 Students well have three pictures of people having a phone call 2 students have to think what the phone call will be about 3 They have to write down a sentence about each pictuer

While-Listening (7-12 minutes) • To provide students with the new target language in context conversation

1 students will listen for two different conversation 2 They will match the conversation to right two pictures 3 Students will say how the people in the conversation reacting to the news

While-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with the differences between formal and informal function

1 Students will read eight sentences .and in groups they will discuss which of the sentences are formal and which are informal

Listening (8-10 minutes) • To get learners attention on the different annotation

students will listen again to the two conversations and matching activity

speaking (10-14 minutes) • students will use the target language with a context

1 students have to write a short conversation with the functions the well have in small paper and each pair have to act this conversation to the other students
