T gives the Ss some questions related to the video which they are going to watch. Ss watch a short video about Northern Lights and answer the questions while listening. T elicits some answers.
T delivers Ss a short exercise about narrative tenses. Ss circle the correct choice in the worksheet and check them in pairs. T elicits the answers from the Ss and highlights the correct ones on the board.
-T uses two sentences from the text to highlight the differences between the narrative verbs. -Ss match the underlined parts in the sentences with their uses.- individual work. -T elicits and write the answers on the w/b. -T draws a timeline on the w/b to illustrate the correlation between three forms- past simple, past continuous and past perfect. - T asks CCQs to check if they understand. * Had we stopped the car after or before the traffic cop ? Before. *Had we stopped watching before the traffic cop ? No. -T checks Ss' understanding of the three forms by drawing a new timeline and asks the Ss to set it in the correct form again. -T asks the Ss to write the negative and question forms of the given sentences in groups. -Ss come to the board to write their answers. - T makes corrections where necessary.
-T delivers the Ss another worksheet to check if they can use the tenses correctly in a similar exercise given before. - Ss do the exercises first individually, then check their answers in pairs. - T corrects them and gives feedback where necessary. - T asks the Ss to work in groups to write some lexis about the earthquake. *What happens during the earthquake? What can be the results? -T monitors them and help if they need. - Ss write them on the w/b. - T corrects them where necessary.
Ss are given an incident report form to write about their experience about a disaster. Ss will write and tell their experiences in pairs. T monitors and gives feedback where necessary.
