To give the Ss practice in reading for gist and intensively through the context of life changes.
Subsidiary Aims

Phrasal verbs with live, Vocabulary and Speaking.
Procedure (28-44 minutes)
On the board write : IFEL SENGACH - - - - - - - - - - - Ss guess as many words as they can to get LIFE CHANGES, if not hint the first letter of each word.
Ss ask each other the printed question and get iedeas.
Ask Ss individually to talk about their friend's biggest change. What changes has your friend hasd recently? Give accuracy-based feedback (pronunciation, grammar, vocab)
Elicit if they know what phrasal verbs are and ask for examples. Instruct to do task 1 using the particles to fill in the blanks.
As a feedback to the previous task ask Ss to match the phrasal verbs with their definition.
Pair up Ss to ask and answer the questions in exercise 2 on page 66.
Elicit ideas by the background picture on page 66 and the photo on page 67 as well as the title of the reading.
Ask Ss to quickly skim the text to get the general idea and ask to answer the 3 questions. ICQs: Can you read the text word by word? How much time do you have? Can you talk to your partner?
Tell Ss they have more time to read the text and match the sentences in exercise 2 with the blanks.
Ss check their answers in pairs.
Pre teach: Regrets, lifestyle, radical change. Ss in pairs discuss the questions and provide reasons for their answers.
