  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of days and feelings

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide them with listening practice

Procedure

Warm-up/Lead-in (4-5 minutes) • To get the Ss interested in the topic

Write the date on the corner of the WB. Put the pictures of days on the W/B... Ss work in 2 groups Put them in order. Drill.

Listening for Pronunciation practice (4-5 minutes) • To provide the students with vocabulary and pronunciation practice

Ss listen to the song at first. The WC sings together. Repeat a couple of times. Drill

vocabulary/speaking practice (4-5 minutes) • To provide the students with practice of vocabulary and sentence structure

Write ''what day is it today?'' Ask some questions like ; ''What day is it tomorrow'' ''what days are in the weekend'' ? Get answers .FB. Drill.

Divide the class into two groups. Each student says a day and the other groups says the next to days. FB. Correct any errors.

Vocabulary Practice Activity (6-7 minutes) • To get the student more interested/practice

Erase everything written on the WB. Ss all come around the chairs. Ss play a competetion game Choose a winner.

Vocabulary Practice (3-4 minutes) • to give students practice of vocabulary

Ss ask eachother what the day is/today/tomorrow/weekend (PW) monitor. correct errors.

Warm-up (3-4 minutes) • To provide the students with new vocabulary(feelings)

Turn the projector on for the smileys. Drill. ''What are these'' ?

Speaking/vocabulary practice (4-5 minutes) • To improve their speaking skills using the new vocabulary

''How do you feel'' ''I feel..........'' Divide them into pairs. Ss ask eachother. Drill.

speaking practice (5-7 minutes) • To provide them with fluency -using the new phrases

Divide Ss into 3 groups. Give each student a smiley face. Ss hold the smileys in their hands. Ss ask eachother questions.

Vocabulary Practice (2-3 minutes) • To provide the students with practice of vocabulary/listening

Use the projector. Ss watch the video 'feelings'. Drill if necessary

Extra Activity/Speaking practice (4-5 minutes) • activity to improve the fluency of the students for this context

Divide the students into 2 groups. Hand out flashes to each group. Ss act out the words on the flashcards to their own team as fast as they can. They have to ask and answer with sentences/not words. Who ever finishes first wins.
