To provide fluency speaking practice in a debate and giving opinions.
Procedure (49-69 minutes)
Teacher will show slides of some weird inventions. after that sts will be in pairs deciding which one they would like to buy. afterward sts share in open class
teacher prepares the sts for the reading by teaching them some important vocabs. Essay. (n) Website\site (n) Costumers (n) Employ (v) Qualification (n) Staff (n) Download (v) Lend (v)
sts then answer the first set of questions about the text. Read the text and answer the questions: How does Ash think that he can make money? Why does Ash want to leave university? Why doesn't ash’s father want to help him? sts check in pairs and then in groups, afterward the teacher shares the answers on the WB. probably sts will be asked to go out and write the answers themselves
sts are asked to finish ex2 in pairs and then check in groups. then sts check with teacher in the WB. probably the teacher will ask sts to come and write the answers.
sts work in groups of 3 or 4 , and do ex 3 then sts have open discussion class with the teacher.
Teacher will note some of what the sts will say and then he will try to give them some feedback or some extension on what the have said.
we can do either of these two activities.(depends on how much time we have left) 1. word game : every st is asked to say a word (e.g. door) then the next should say a word that starts with the last letter (in this case "R" so rabbit) and the next with "T" and so on. there are three rules to this game (1.no repeating.2.no cheating. 3. the word should be given within 10 seconds) 2. make sentences using the words we have learnt from the reading.
