Procedure (45-61 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Think of the most common names in Turkey and Libya? Have you used those names for someone whose names are really those names? Sts talk to partner. Ask for some examples.
Vocabulary Exposure (10-12 minutes) • To expose sts to the lexis set of placeholder names
Sts read Vocabulary ex. 1 individually. WC FB
Vocabulary Clarification (5-10 minutes) • The clarify the meanings of placeholder names
Sts do ex. 2 in pairs. WC FB
While-Listening #1 (5-8 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist a listening tasks
Sts listen to recording 1.54. Discuss in pairs. WC FB
While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed reading/listening tasks
Give txt to sts. Sts listen and read again, check in groups of 3-4, then WC FB
Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
