Procedure (68-86 minutes)
Visuals of Iveta and places. Elicit: Where's 's she? She's at a railway station. What does she want? She wants to catch a train. In pairs - sts match places and activities. F/B to w/b. Drill places / activities. PW - Where do you ........? At a .........
Show visual of ticket office. Where is she? At the ticket office. What does she want? A ticket. Elicit this dialogue: A: Can I have a ticket to Oxford please? T.O: Single or return? A: Return please. TO: Sure. A: How much is that? TO: 22.50 please? A: Can I pay by credit card? TO: No problem. Put your card in the machine. Drill and mark stress. Highlight pronunciation esp contractions, weak forms etc. Sts practice in pairs.
Give sts pictures of places. Sts listen and order them. Sts listen again and try to fill in the gaps. Peer check. Answer key.
Sts in pairs read the dialogues. Set up places round the class. Sts role play (try to add language and encourage them to do it without reading).
What`s in my bag? Guessing game: Have you got a..... / Have you got any...... water, Biscuits, dinosaur, pen, paper, book, photos etc
Set up context. PT airport, customs officer, Sts listen: what is in the bag? Check in pairs - whiskey, cigarettes, perfume. Groups: order dialogue Listen x2 abd check
T/ elicits the dialogue onto w/b using prompts. Drill Sts in pairs - open class then closed pairs practise. Role Play.
Maybe some pairs act out their dialogue. Correction stage - focus on meaning rather than form.
