This procedure is done with 3 pictures. At the end of the activity, one student from each group is asked to write their answers on the board. No points for groups that have the same answers and one point for each different answer.
ask the students to brainstorm in pairs and come up with 3 jobs or places to work where it would be easiest so meet a celebrity. Students discuss why they came up with the jobs on their list. The teacher monitors but doesn't interfere. The teacher elicits the jobs from the students and asks why they chose it.
The teacher focuses on the unknown language used in the script. 6 items are taken out to be taught and written on the W/B. Teacher refers to language analysis. using ccq's for the new language. also pronunciation is taught by drilling if necessary. The students think of examples to use the new language in a sentence. Example: i am in charge of this class, I think Justin Timberlake is cute.
The students are told that they will be listening to a radio show. they will look at the names in activity 1 and match them with the famous names the people have met at work. Teacher plays the recording. The students listen again and compare their answers. The teacher elicits the answers and makes gives the correct answers if they got them wrong.
the teacher gives each student a handout of true/false questions. The students listen to the script again. The teacher plays the recording. The teacher pauses between each speaker and the students answer their questions individually. The students compare their answers in small groups. the teacher monitors and prompts the students who have difficulties. The teacher takes WC FB, elicits the answers from the students and gives the answers if necessary
The students are put into groups of 4, they ask each other: Have you ever met a famous person? Most probably the answer is no. and he students move on tho the next questions: Who would you like to meet(dead or alive)? Why? What would you ask? What do you think their response would be? If yes, the students asks follow up questions, When did you meet? Where did you meet? What did you say? The students work in groups and answer the questions. The teacher also joins the groups one by one answering the same questions. The students try to remember as much information as possible.
