To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of presenting yourself and others
Procedure (45-59 minutes)
Present and say something about John and Jackie. Fictional characters. Use pictures of the characters and what they like to do.
With the sentences used in the presentation of the characters highlight key vocabulary. Verb to be and simple conjugation of verbs. Ask students to identify the language by themselves.
Students try to present themselves using the new vocabulary.
Filling the gaps exercise with the targeted language.
Correct the answers with the students.
Clarify mistakes that could be made during both practice exercises.
Give each student pictures and photographs of people doing something and ask them to think and present to the class/teacher the person they have.
