In this lesson students are going to listen to a conversation between two women who they're gossiping about the couple of the next door

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

In this stage I will write the word "gossip" on the board. I'll elicit the meaning and I'll ask students who do people often gossip about? And how they feel when people gossip about them ? And also I'll tell them what is my opinion about gossiping .

Pre-Reading/Listening (2-3 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

The students will be informed about the meaning of the following vocabularies used in the text by trying to match the meaning of the words with the vocabularies individually. They will check their answers with the whole class. "Breaking up" " gossiping" "arguing"

While-Reading/Listening #1 (2-3 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

The students will listen to track and try to answer the following questions: Who are the Jack and Emma? What has happened to them?

While-Reading/Listening #2 (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Students will be asked to read the questions on page 96 part c and then the audio file will be played again.and they should select the right answer between options for questions 1_3

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

In this stage I'll ask students do they or their friends ever gossip ? And what about?
