In this lesson , learners will listen to different cultures attitudes to success . They will listen to Mariama from Britain and Remco from the Netherlands talking about their attitudes . They will have the chance to practice some vocabulary and expressions .They will also express their opinions about their attitudes .

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of success and to provide fluency practice speaking in the context of attitudes to success .

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ss will play a game as a kind of warm up and break of the routine Write on the board the title Attitudes to success . Elicit the meaning of the title FB

Listening #1 (8-11 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information listening task

Ask Ss to talk in pairs about their attitudes of success . Learners look at the pictures of Mariama and Remco Ask Ss to predict how they feel about success or being successful . FB Ss read the questions first and try to predict Mariama and Remco 's attitudes to success Play the recording . Peer check before whole class feedback .

Listening #2 (4-7 minutes) • To provide students with the main ideas

Ss read the sentences and think about their answers . Play the recording Peer check before whole class feedback

Post Listening activity (8-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to respond to the recording and expand on what they've learned
