Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will write the word "health" on the board and I want the students to come up with some related words

Pre-Reading/Listening (5-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

In this stage I'm going to teach some medical words using pictures on page 42 and students are going to find those words in the text and match the paragraphs with the picture. Also I'll teach other words that I think might be challenging

While-Reading/Listening #1 (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

The students will answer a general questions about the text.(How many kinds of drink are you seeing in the picture?) I want them to read the paragraph about water and I'll want them to look for the words or phrases that mean "the right amount" and "more than you need"

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-20 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

The students will read the text deeper and then they'll answer the questions "which ones have more disadvantage than advantage?" and " which ones have more advantage than disadvantage?" they also answer some T or Fs about the text.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

We will have a discussion about eating healthy
