Description

In this lesson , students will practice speaking skill in the context of typical friends and asking each other about the activities that they do in their free time .

Main Aims

  • • To give Ss practice in speaking for accuracy & fluency in the context of typical friends and free-time activities

Subsidiary Aims

  • • To give the Ss controlled & semi-controlled practice of simple present yes/no questions. To consolidate & give Ss the opportunity to practice free time vocabulary.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1- Introduce the topic to the students . 2- Personalize the topic and tell the students about the activities i do with my friends in our free time . 3-Ask students about the activities they do with friends in their free time . 4- Elicit answers and put them on the board

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Ex. 1 Show students pictures of some activities . Elicit some responses from them and put on the board . FB put students in pairs and let them ask each other about the activities they do . FB

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

1- Ex . 2 Introduce the question DO YOU linking it with the phrases and words in Ex 1 2-Have students interview each other using Do you questions round the class . 3- Monitor and give help when it is necessary . 4- Whole class check and Feedback 1- HOs ..put students into groups of three 2-Ss interview their partners 3- FB - Ex.3 .Put students into pairs - Have students discuss with their partners " Are you a typical men friend or a typical women friend and why - Students will report back - Feedback

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Errors on the board . Allow pair work discussion time before the whole class feedback
