Procedure (38-46 minutes)
students will be asked if they remember my contry.Map of iran will be shown on the board.The teacher will point out the fact that there are no clubs in Iran and ask the students If people can go dancing in Iran?The answer would be no you can't because there are no clubs in Iran. 2 Can I go out for a coffee?Yes,you can why?There are cafe in Iran. 3 Can I go swimming in Tehran?No you can't. There are no beaches In Tehran.
The hand out will be chested. Students will be told to fill in the blanks with Can/Can’t. They will check the answers in pairs. Student will do part B and fill in the blanks for the rules. They will check the answers in pairs. Students will fill in the gaps and complete the short answers. They will be given a copy of the rules on page 139 to check their answers in pairs. 2 examples of can/can't will be written on the board and students will be asked about the differences.2 of them will be about abilities and 2 for possibilities.
The handout will be chested .Students will be asked to fill in the blanks while listening to R8.1 with can/can’t. They will check their answers in pairs. The answers will be check in the class.
Students will listen to recording R8.2 They will be asked which word is stressed. The answer is can’t. They will answer why they think can is stressed/strong and can is not? The answer is because it is negative. Recording R8.3 will be played students will tick the sentence that they hear. They will check their answers in pairs. They will be given the script to read while listening to notice the differences.
Students will be given the handouts with exercise 10 and 11 they will be asked to choose a holiday place that they know and the things that can or can not be done there.
Students will be asked to Write down 5 questions about a city or a country individually.They will work in pairs later and ask each other questions to figure out the name of the place that their partners have chosen.
Sentences will be written on the board and students will be asked to fix them.
