Description

In this lesson the students will be able to predict the situations or talk about the things might happen in future by using will/won't grammer. The class will be finished with a discussion task about how they see each other in the future.

Materials

Abc Handout, board, American english file students book

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of Simple future tense in the context of Future

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of The will/won't predictions in the context of Future

Procedure

Warmer (2-4 minutes) • To set the lesson context and get the class attention

In this stage i will talk about the things that I will do this weekend. I will use the verbs that my students have got familiar with.

Exposure (5-7 minutes) • To provide the context for the target language through a text or situation

In this stage I will ask students how they will spend their weekend

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students attention to the target language

In this stage, I will write the some of the examples my students have made in the correct form to draw their attention to the target language.

Clarification (7-12 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation

I will clarify the meaning by drawing timeline and the board and asking ccqs eg"are the sentence about past, present or the future?" "Are the action finished or they're going to happen?" "Are we sure about the things Are going to happen?" "Is it about the future or the past?" Then I will check the pronunciation of some of the hard words my students have used in their examples and make sure they pronounce them correctly by asking them to repeat after me. And also covering the form of the words.

Controlled practice (6-9 minutes) • To concept check and practice

The students are going to do exercise B on page 137 in the grammer bank in 3 minutes in groups. The we will check the answers in class

Free practice (10-12 minutes) • To provide the students with free discussion of the TL.

I will ask students in pairs how they'd see their friends in the future and what do they think they're gonna do in future and then tell the class about it
