Procedure (43-58 minutes)
First I am going to bring a picture, and ask them who are they to elicit the word parents. then I will ask them what characteristics a good father or mother has. Next,They are going to note down the names of three people that they know and ask their partners about their list and their relationships with their families. Next, two or three of them are going to share their information with whole class. In order to help them to understand the instruction I am going to give a demo with one of them.
They will be provided with a hand out which includes some sentences that they should read the reading to understand whom they are about(e.g. father or mother).
First they will read through the without checking the words to choose two sentences which best defines mother. Then they will talk about why do they choose it in pairs then in group to agree on one sentence.
Each student should write his or her own definition of his or her father then discuss in group to choose the best definition.
The students are provided with a text which has som blanks. Since it is a teagher made HO, I tried to put either the meanings or some clues that they must use to guess their meanings. When they did the task individually they can share they reasons why they chose the phrasal words. Then they will have a WC cheking that I am going elicit the phrasals.
First, they are going to put the previous papers aside then I am going to hand the copies of the task, and give them the instruction. Next, they will do it individually to choose the right particle. when they finished I am going to review the words by asking them to be sure that they understood the words. Since the sentences are question form they must mingle to ask and answer the questions from other students and note down their information. then they will go back to their groups to report their friends information.
The game is called back to board from each group I choose a student to sit against the board facing the other students. I will write a word on the board, and the others should thell them the definition, so that their friend say bnthe word each group has only one cahnce because the woeds ade limited.
