Procedure (30-40 minutes)
Start the lesson by asking students to discuss how they feel when they can't find something important. Model the activity with Miguel. Allow them one minutes to talk. Start the timer on screen https://forms.gle/GLcUcdAdBCVamruK6 Direct the students’ attention to the Google Form, and ask them to listen and answer the question. What has Hannah lost? Students compare their answers on the chat box. Ask students to read the instructions to the second part of the Form in silence. Model the activity filling the missing words of the first video. Ask ICQS. What do you need to do? Write the missing words. How many times can you play the video? Two. Ask them to submit their answers, Conduct OCFB.
- Break down the conversation to analyze the meaning, appropriacy, pronunciation, and form of the emphasized words and phrases. - Discuss the use of extra words before adjectives to make them stronger, the difference between "so" and "such," and examples of auxiliary verbs for emphasis. - Practice sentence stress with auxiliary verbs and other examples of emphasis in sentences.
- Engage students in activities such as filling in missing words in sentences, identifying emphatic structures, and practicing sentence stress for emphasis. - Encourage students to apply what they have learned from the text to create their own sentences with emphasis.
