  • 2. Ss will practice using the collocations in a speaking activity, to improve their fluency and accuracy.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5 minutes) • To introduce and generate interest in the topic

Set-up: Begin by asking learners to discuss a great experience they've had. Show slide 1: "Tell us about a great experience you've had." Task: Nominate 2-3 learners to share their experiences with the class. Feedback: Engage in an open-class discussion based on the shared experiences. Transition: Use the shared experiences to introduce the topic of the lesson.

Exposure and Highlighting (10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Set-up: Show a conversation with the target language (TL) and tell the Ss they will read to get the main idea. Task: Learners read and answer the question individually on Google Forms. Feedback: Compare answers in pairs, then OCFB. Highlight the TL from the text. Transition: "Now we are going to analyze the vocabulary we have in the text".

Clarification (8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Set-up: Cover the meaning, form, and pronunciation of the TL using visual aids. Task: Provide explanations and examples to clarify the TL. Feedback: Use concept checking questions (CCQs) to ensure understanding. Transition: Prepare for controlled practice of the TL. "Now we are going to practice through some exercises".

Controlled Practice (10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Set-up: Provide a controlled practice exercise using Google Forms. Task: Learners complete the exercise individually and then check in pairs. Feedback: Conduct an open-class feedback session. Transition: Introduce a communicative task for freer practice.
