Subsidiary Aims

To provide detailed and scan reading practice using a text about a strange story in the context of two brothers
Procedure (35-45 minutes)
- Pre-teach the new words. angry, bored, happy, hungry, nervous, scared, surprised, tired, worried with pictures and Eliciting Concept checking questions Drilling Writing to the board.
-Read a short story to the students (there is the target vocabulary in it) and want them to mime the adjective when they hear it. For example, when I say happy they will mime it.
-The students will work in two groups. -They will read the story and try to put the pictures into correct order.
-The students will work in two groups. -They will read the story and one student from each group will run to the wall which has true false sentences stick on. The first group will try to find the true sentences and the second group will try to find the false sentences. The group which finishes first, is the winner.
-All the students will have a paper which has questions. For example, find someone who gets bored easily? -The students will stand up and mingle. They will ask the questions to each other and take notes. At the end the teacher will ask what they have learnt about their friends.
