T: Okay, you have 1 minute to quickly read the letter and answer these questions.
Share screen. T: What do these phrases have in common? ---They are adverbs. T: What do they do? What's their purpose? ---To give emphasis on the part after. T: What purpose does the last one have? ---To suggest a solution to the problem.
Share link to Google docs. Share screen. Set timer to 2 minutes. T: Now it's your turn. Take 2 minutes to think of a topic or recent news article you have a strong opinion about. You can form ideas about what you want to write in your mind, or take some notes on a piece of paper. The 2 minutes start now. Set timer to 13 minutes. T: Okay, I'll send a link to a google doc in the chat. Can you see the link? When you open it, find your name. If you can't find your name, write it on the next empty page. Write your letter to a newspaper editor about your chosen topic. You have 15 minutes to write, then we will share what we wrote with everyone. ICQ: Do you work individually, or in groups? INDIVIDUALLY.
