Procedure

Exploring Humanitarian Vocabulary (45 minutes) • To enrich students’ vocabulary related to humanitarian work and improve reading comprehension through an engaging text about Angelina Jolie.

1. Warm-up/ Lead-in: (5 mins): Briefly discuss Angelina Jolie’s role as a humanitarian to pique interest. 2. Pre-Reading or Vocabulary Presentation (10 mins): Introduce new vocabulary with definitions and pictures. 3. Reading Task 1/ Skimming (15 mins): Students read the text about Angelina Jolie, identifying key vocabulary. 4. Check Understanding or 5. Reading Task 2/ Scanning (12 mins): identify specific details in the text or speech, such as key events, dates, or names. 6. Check Understanding or Comprehension Check (5 mins): Verify that learners have grasped the key vocabulary and concepts presented and conduct a quick quiz or Q&A to assess understanding. 7.
