Procedure (42-58 minutes)
T puts an image of an empty flat to the WB. Is it nice to live in an empty flat? Instructions: You have 2 minutes. With your partner, discuss what 3 first things that you will buy into an empty flat? ICQ: How many things? Do you work alone? FB: Ask 2 students about their lists.
These are Alex and Martina. What are they doing? (try elicit "looking for a flat', give this answer if eliciting takes too long)
Instructions: (handout put on the WB using projector) in this text there are some words that are bold, on the plan theare are letters A, B, C, D, E. What do you need to do? (Match). Work on your own. ICQ: Whıch words do you match? (kitchen, living room, bedrooms, balcony) Do you match with numbers (No, with letters) Do you work with your partner (No, alone) Early finishers will be given names of the rooms to stick to the WB. Instructions: Here you have some pictures and some words, please match them. Work with your partner. Instructions: On this handout there is a text and some questions. On your own please read the text and answer the questions. Peer-check: Teacher monitores and tells the students to check with their partner when they're done. FB Teacher nominates the students to answer the questions and tell where in the text is the answer.
Instructions: In groups of 4 (or 3 depending on the number of the students) please tell each other about your flats. What rooms and what things do you have there? You can use your list of things to help you with your story. Teacher monitores and corrects mistakes, if many students have the same mistake T puts it on the WB and elicits corrections.
Instructions: Here is a crossword puzzle, when you have all the words, there will be a new word in the middle. You can work on your own or with a partner. Who gets the "middle" word first - wins. FB T-WC
