  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of meeting someone for the first ime

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Greet students. and refer to objective. Provide the students the following link, and review with them if (exemplify with 1) if is saying hello. Elicit some lexis (provide review and notate any chunks/errors). Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Review conversations done by students. Elicit and correct any errors. Brainstorm further lexical chunks: elicit chunks 1) My name is 2) and you? 3) I am from.../ I live 4) I am ...

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Have students use new lexical to correct previous conversations

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Students must use lexical to prepare common 1st time presentations in everyday life. Depending on groups is either trios, duos.... Teacher writes errors heard.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Students present conversations in front of class... From errors (at least 5) teacher solves one. Ask the rest to be solved by homework
