Description

This lesson aims to introduce and practice conversational English related to party invitations and greetings. The main aim is to improve students' listening, speaking, and pronunciation skills in the context of social interactions. The sub-aims include reinforcing vocabulary related to different rooms in a house and common phrases used in social gatherings.

Main Aims

  • To develop students' listening, speaking, and pronunciation skills in the context of social interactions, focusing on party invitations and greetings.

Subsidiary Aims

  • 1. To reinforce vocabulary related to different rooms in a house (kitchen, dining room, living room, upstairs, downstairs). 2. To familiarize students with common phrases used in social gathering and party

Procedure

Warmer/ Lead-in (0-2 minutes) • To engage students and set the context for the lesson by introducing the topic of parties and social interactions through a picture and discussion.

T show a picture of a party scene and introduce the topic of parties

Exposure (3-6 minutes) • To expose students in context by listening to a conversation at a party

T will play the audio of the conversation and also display the conversation on the board after that T will show flashcards to Ss and ask them to repeat

Focus on Form (Guided Discovery) (2-4 minutes) • To guide students in understanding the structure and grammar of the conversation

Break down the breakdown conversation on the board sentence by sentence, highlighting key language patterns and structures.

Focus on pronunciation (1-2 minutes) • To help students improve their pronunciation and intonation

Practice key phrases with correct stress and intonation

Controlled practice (2-3 minutes) • To provide students with structured practice by engaging in role-play activities

T divide Ss into pairs , each pairs practice the conversation
