Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide review the verbs in the context of pantomime and game

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will start by miming some of the can verbs that they already have been taught by me and I use new words in my miming like POT FOX HOP that they are going to learn in the next part

Pre-Reading/Listening (4-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Then I will ask them with gestures(I can draw a fox) what can you do? and when they answer they are ready to listen ( I will ask them to pantomime their answers)

While-Reading/Listening #1 (4-6 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

They will listen to audio and then I will( I ask them mime as well) mime and explain each sentence to them to solve their problems

While-Reading/Listening #2 (5-6 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

They will listen again and point then, so I can work on my sub aim as well. Then we will pantomime each sentence together

Post-Reading/Listening (3-5 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

I will divide them into groups with two members and regroup them so they talk about what can they do
