Description

To reinforce students’ understanding of the material covered in Units 1 to 6 and to enhance their IELTS question-asking and answering skills.

Main Aims

  • Individual Review Time: Students will be given time to go through the review paper individually. They will be encouraged to write down any questions or areas of confusion for later discussion. Interactive IELTS Practice: While students are reviewing the material, some will be chosen to come to the front of the class. These students will draw an IELTS question card and ask the question to the class. They will then answer the question themselves or choose another student to answer.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Distribution of Materials: Each student will receive a handout of a review paper covering the material from Units 1 to 6. This will serve as a comprehensive review of the topics discussed so far.

Individual Reveiw (8-10 minutes)

Individual Review Time: Students will be given time to go through the review paper individually. They will be encouraged to write down any questions or areas of confusion for later discussion.

Interactive IELTS Practice (15-20 minutes)

Interactive IELTS Practice: While students are reviewing the material, some will be chosen to come to the front of the class. These students will draw an IELTS question card and ask the question to the class. They will then answer the question themselves or choose another student to answer.

Group Discussion (8-10 minutes)

Group Discussion: After the IELTS practice, the class will come together as a group to discuss the review material. Students can bring up the questions or areas of confusion they identified during their individual review time.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

As part of our vocabulary practice, I invite you to write sentences using the words we’ve learned. Consider context and meaning as you craft your sentences. Once done, share your sentences with a friend. Reading aloud will reinforce comprehension and pronunciation.

Wrap-Up (4-5 minutes)

Wrap-up: The lesson will conclude with a brief summary of the key points from the review and the IELTS practice. Students will be reminded of the importance of continuous review and practice in mastering the material and performing well on the IELTS.
