in this lesson the students learn to talk about past actions and the differences between simple past and past continues tense. the lesson starts with a story of someone talking about his last vacation and uses past form of the verbs and also adverbs indicating past actions

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context , engage students and draw attention

I start the session with a story of my previous travel on the last holiday then at the same time I also write the past verbs that I use in my story on the board.

Exposure (5-7 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

In this stage I my students to talk about their own last trip.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

First I try to teach them the differences between simple past and past continuous by using examples and writing the timeline on the board and telling them when these two tenses are used. then I'll clarify the negative and question form of sentences.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I'll show a video of a person staying on a holiday, doing some activities. then I'll ask the students randomly to describe what they realize.
