To practice pronunciation of past simple regular verbs, focusing on the /id/ /t/ and /d/ sound. in the context of last weekend , last vacation
Procedure (34-50 minutes)
. I will ask questions on what happened in the last weekend? then the will bw written on the board, to show them question, affiirmatice and negative ansers .Are these actions finished or still continuing? Is there a clear reference to a time in the past?
I will first get the students to underline the past simple forms individually. Then, as this is the second class reffering to the past , I will get the students to practice english with other students they will be looking at the past simple regular verbs,
I will ask them to focus on the questions of their partnerfor the moment. . I will get the students to share their answer in pairs then we willpay attention to the second part of the grammar which speaks about the future the use of verb patterns
I will then explain to the students these experessions , I will give examples to clarify this : worked /t/ ; visited /id/ ; stayed /d/. I will write the three categories on the board. I will read out loud the past simple form of the verbs I previously gave them and ask the students to repeat after me. . I will then explain that these ending sounds depend on the last letter of the infinitive form of the verbs. I will write on the board the following expressions to the students i am going to., I want to. I plan to, i am planning to , i hope to :I will ask them what all these have in common?
I will first set the context of the activity which we will be working on in this stage. I will get the students to work on the activities given by the book about the past, and get them to relate to the following topic students will work on the guide lines given by the book on the students book and the workbook students will receive feedback based on the answers by the book itself
