Procedure (34-45 minutes)
-I will show the picture on p. 46 which contains a wedding party, then I will ask some questions like: What can you see? Why are people coming together? Who comes/ do you invite for your parties?
- I will start drawing a family tree to introduce some basic family-relationship vocabulary. The students will help by choosing Turkish names for the people - Then.after eliciting the words I will use CCQs -Next, I will show students a HO that includes a question asking them to match some relationship with their definition. SS will work in pairs to check their answers. At that time I will be moving around to check teh progress of work. Then FB with the WC - I will use CCQs to make sure that Ss got the meaning
- Ss will play the game "find someone who". I will give the instructions to Ss and then they have to stand up and move around to find someone who is an employee, grandmother..etc - Then Ss will work with a partner to tell him about his findings -Next students will practice another controlled activity. I will show them the HO that contains the activity. Ss have to move around and to fill a table of roles' and relationship vocabulary with names of people who play those roles like niece, employer and close friend. -Ss have to find a partner to exchange his findings with him
- I will say the words and students repeat after me chorally and individually. - I will mark the stress of each word, and correct mistakes (if any)
- Displaying the wedding part picture again -Giving Ss the instructions that i am going to describe a person in the picture and they should know him. - eliciting gusses from Ss -Asking Ss to to the same with his partner
- Introducing the word (twin) by showing a picture of a twin and eliciting Showing the HO to Ss and giving short instructions (you have to look at the picture and guess the names of the people). -Ss work in pairs to do it -Then I will play the audio to allow them to check their answers
