Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Happiness in the context of What makes us happy?

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

At this stage before we start the class we will talk about our days and I'll try to ask them; are they happy or satisfied about they day or not.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Students are going to check the questions and try to find their answers and little by little they will be able to talk about this topic.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Here I am going to clarify what do I exactly want from them to say and I will help them to talk more by asking them some questions.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

I will probably show them some pictures and ask them which one of those pictures will cause more happiness and what is reason.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

At the end of the class I will ask them to choose a partner and talk together about this topic. I think this is going to help them to talk more freely.
