Procedure (64-85 minutes)
As a warm up I will tell students about a celebration that I have participated in recently ( Fathers day and birthday) , then I will ask some questions to check students understandings. Now I will give them time to think about recent celebration in their own lives. Then have them discuss it in pairs I will tell them that they will be asked to describe their partner’s celebration for the class and suggest they take some brief notes as they listen and then i will call them to share their partner’s experience with the class.
I will write the word Ritual on the board and lead them to the first task in the book and have them to discuss them with a partner , then I will ask the to share their Ideas and I will write them on the board and then the word Ritual will be pre teached if necessary.
I will ask them to do the next task and I will remind them that they don’t need to read the text in detail the first time and that they shouldn’t worry about unknown vocabulary after that we are going to review the answers as a class, having students explain which words in the text helped them match the phrases to the paragraphs.
I will have students read the statements and clarify any vocabulary doubts and I will remind them to to use the text glossary for help with new vocabulary. Then I will have students read the article in more detail and complete the exercise , then I will tell students to compare answers with a partner. I will ask them to reread parts of the article as needed and after that review the answers as a class.
Now I will set the groups and ask them to discuss each questions mentioned in the book and after that share their opinion to the class and again go for the next question meanwhile I will walk around the class and monitor them for any errors and mistakes then I will ask their personal views about the questions and finish the class with instructions for their home work.
