Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Group discussions and debate in the context of World culture

  • To provide clarification of International words in the context of World culture

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will start the lesson by mentioning some holidays from pervious weeks and the ones ahead and ask them if they have any plans for them , then I mention some of them that are being celebrated in multiple countries like Valentines day etc. then ask them what about some national and religious holidays and ask them their ideas about these celebrations whether we should or shouldn't celebrate holidays outside of our culture.

Exposure (10-15 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

In this part I will bring up the subject : Globalisation and ask them whether they know anything about it and then on the board I will write some local , national , regional , international holidays and ask their opinion about the act of globalisation then in their groups will talk about other examples of this acts.

Highlighting (10-15 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

I will mention the needs for a country to globalize its culture and its economy and ask them what they think about these needs and if they have anything to add the words will be : Industrialization , multinational corporations , Gross domestic product (GDP) , Investments , Democratizations , Liberalisation and these kind of words.

Clarification (10-15 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

now I'm going to talk about the meanings of those words and then set up a speaking task in groups to talk about these words and necessities of going worldwide.

Controlled Practice (10-12 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

In this section the subject of the group speaking will the perks of the Globalisation and the monitoring will be strict and error correction takes place after the tas starting by self then goes to teachers correction.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Now the subject will be the downsides of this act and the correction takes place after the task. In both perks and downsides the students are required to write down the ideas mentioned in their speaking.

Free Practice (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Now the groups will split into two groups one of them are will encourage globalisation and the other will be against it then we will have a debate and after that I will end the class with a quick review of the new words they learned .
