students identify and correcctly pronunce the seasons of the year throught songs and videos. they will make their favorite seasons on a white sheeet of paper, writing the name of the season. at the end of their drawing they mention out loud the season they chose

  • To provide specific information listening practice using a text about seasons of the year in the context of climate change

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Class begins by asking students what they know about the seasons of the year. Encourage the discussion with questions such as: How many stations are there? What changes do we notice in each season? What is your favorite climate?

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Present short and catchy songs about each season of the year with simple and understandable lyrics.

Highlighting (3-6 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Give a brief discussion about what they learned from the songs and videos. Ask about the characteristics of each station and encourage students to share what they liked most.

Controlled Practice (15-20 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Instruct students to choose their favorite season and draw a scene representative of that season and write the name of the season on their drawing.

Semi-Controlled Practice (3-5 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

With the teacher's help, each student mentions their favorite element of the station they chose and what they like most about it.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

With the teacher's help, each student presents his or her drawing to the rest of the class. After each presentation, ask partners to share what they learned about their partner's favorite season.
