Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

say: say hello and ask how are you today? Today we are going to learn about parts of the body in English, and it will be very fun! ask who can say in Spanish what this is? (and point to the head) so that the students answer then ask who knows how to say "head" in English? To start our class with the song "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes". Ready to sing and move!

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Use visual images, cards or drawings to show the different parts of the body in English. Pronounce each word clearly and repeat several times so that children become familiar with the pronunciation. Ask students if they know some of the parts and if they can say them in English.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Highlight some parts of the body, emphasizing their importance and how we use them. For example, highlight that we use our hands to write, our legs to run, etc.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Clarify any doubts that children may have about the pronunciation or meaning of a word. Encourage the children to repeat after me to practice pronunciation.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Perform simple exercises, give a drawing where children must point to different parts of the body when they hear their name in English. You can say phrases like "Touch your nose" or "Point to your ears" to practice.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Divide students into pairs and give each pair cards with pictures of body parts. One student describes the image in English and the other points to the corresponding part on his or her own body.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Conclude the class with a playful activity, such as a game of "Simon says" where children must follow instructions in English to touch different parts of the body. This reinforces vocabulary in a fun way.
