Introduce students to the names of animals through vocabulary practice
Subsidiary Aims

Introduce students to the names of the animals that can be found on a farm, learn how to write them, translate them into Spanish and pronounce them.
Procedure (32-50 minutes)
-Place on the board photographs of animals that can be found on a farm and ask the following questions: What are the names of these animals in Spanish? -Listen to students' responses.
-Tell the students the following: There are different languages in the world and the way of writing and pronouncing the names of animals also changes. Near our city we have a country. What is that country? How do you think the names of animals are pronounced in that country? Have you heard the name of any animal in that language? -Share the answers with the group.
-Place large cards with the names of the farm animals on the board and ask the students to participate in placing the name of the animals under the image to which they think it corresponds.
-Correct the location of the names if necessary. -Write the names in English and Spanish in the notebook, as well as a drawing with their respective animal.
-With the help of the teacher, practice the pronunciation of the names of each animal in English and their translation into Spanish
-Organize the group into teams of 7 students and provide each team with a memo with the names of the animals in English and an image of them. -Give students 10 minutes to play. -Conduct a brief review of the names of the animals to close the class.
