Main Aims
-
To provide a detailed reading practice using a text with regards lifestyle habits and their health effects.
Subsidiary Aims
-
To provide clarification for some of the key vocab used in the lesson
Procedure (28-41 minutes)
I will commence the lesson with a discussion about dietary and lifestyle behaviors that either positively or negatively effect one's health in the course of time.
in this stage I'll expose the students to the essential vocab used in the text and provide them with some extra words relative to the context of the lesson, by using some of the pictures in the book and the board to match them. then i'll have the students match some of words to their corresponding sentences which i'll have written on the board.
the students are going to read the first paragraph of the text for 2,3 minutes to get the main gist and answer why the title of the article reads:("everything bad is good for you"), and share their answers with the class.
the students are going to read the article in a more detailed way, and look for specific words or key findings related to health and body, and match the key highlighted words to their corresponding definitions or pictures in the book, and check the answers with the class.
I'll have the students partner up and discuss some detrimental or destructive dietary or lifestyle habits that effect their health, and how they can counter this
