Description

The lesson begins with listening,where Sts listen to a conversation between two elderly women who are gossiping. In this lesson first I'm going to write the word Gossip on the board.And then I will ask them if they have heard this word before?What does this word mean? Can someone explain? I'm going to ask Sts:1)Who do people often gossip about?2)How do you feel when people gossip about you?

Main Aims

  • To provide detailed listening practice using a voice about conversation between two elderly women who are gossiping.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide Improving students' listening skills and comprehension skills. Answering questions in the listening section and talking about the topic in the listening section.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher is going to write the word Gossip on the board.And then the teacher will ask the students, have they ever heard this word?What does this word mean? Can someone explain?

Pre-Reading/Listening (2-3 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

In this stage the teacher is going to teach the students that the word gossip is a verb and a noun and tells them to use it in a sentence and give an example, and the teacher herself says 2 sentences.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (1-3 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

The students are going to answer the question:What do you think they're talking about?They should look at the picture of two old women and answer according to it.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (2-3 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

The students are going to listen to the conversation between the two women.And then answer these questions:Who are Jack and Emma?What has happened to them?They are given about 2 minutes to listen the audio and share their answer with the class.

Post-Reading/Listening (2-3 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

The students are going to listen again and answer the tests.They will check their answers in pairs and then with the whole class.
